  Great coffee and breakfast but pretty disorganised, waited almost an hour today for a chicken focaccia. Asked about it twice and then decided to pay for my coffee and leave after a few other customers had come and gone. This was on a quiet Saturday afternoon, honestly should only take a few minutes to heat one up.

  Ordered eggs with smashed avocado and mushrooms on toast - the avocado came as sliced avo (even after the waitress confirmed it would be smashed) and the mushrooms extremely salty. The bread didn’t have butter and the eggs needed seasoning.

  The last time I attended Barclay's was supposed to be the final time. I was so upset at what went on I decided never to return. That is until a mate insisted we meet there for lunch.

  All I can suggest is that the chef and menus have changed as has the attitude. Vastly better now.

  Barclays is very popular, particularly at brunch time and is a fairly steady performer. It's 'reliable' but nothing extraordinary, in my view. The coffee is ok. The selection of food is pretty reasonable. The service is average. The friendliness of the staff is minimal. The wait times can be pretty horrific during peak hours. I'm happy enough to go here during non-peak times, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. There's also no wi-fi.

  First visit, had the bacon and eggs which was quick to arrive. Bread crust was hard to cut, but otherwise the food was very tasty. The cappuccino was ok but I found the sprinkles were a little bitter. I still very much enjoyed everything and the ambience was nice, with the quiet music and the pretty landscape pictures on the walls. My waitress was friendly as well.

  I wish it was better as it used to be a realible local cafe but has gone downhill. Perhaps a new chef with some fresh ideas? We won’t be back if it stays the way it is.

  We’ve been a couple of times with the new owners and unfortunately, the atmosphere and food has become quite disappointing.
